New PORC Races
4.1.09

We are very glad to announce after December's scuffle that a new PORC race date has been confirmed
for the end of January - Sunday the 18th to be exact. The new course is reported to be pretty much polished,
so the sneaky early practice runs are in order for those who know where the track runs. There are no
further race dates listed as yet, but stay tuned for more as it comes. This is a great chance to beat
those Winter blues, so get out there and support the scene!

Now that we've delved into the grottiest time of year
weather-wise, it's time to admit that we aren't
able to keep up the riding quite like we would have liked to. Big plans for winter so often fail to
work. We have an answer to keep the biking spirit alive in you through the dark season. Our forums
currently offer chat space for all riding disciplines with local input, photo, video and 'Buy, Sell
Trade' forums and even a space for feedback from local venues. Feel you need to keep in touch with

Bull Track Club Ride
20.12.08

Riders of The Bull Track's club will be descending (literally) on Friston Forest (East Sussex) on December 27th.
The meet time will be 10.30am. Local workers
have been extremely busy down there working on new lines, so this should be a great
opportunity to
have a laugh and enjoy some freshly baked jumps. More info can be found
here.
Friston Forest also
boasts 2 grades of XC loops, which are also recommended of having a go at, and the forest also supports Visitor Centre and
Coffee shop.

New toy alert! Last month it looked like our luck really wasn't in when our Pentax
gave up the ghost leaving us a little stuck. In a way it came at a good time for an
upgrade as the Pentax had already had faults with the batteries; so roll on the Nikon
D60. Looks like a fun bit of kit and will be getting practice with it before
the next race...
No PORC Winter Series RD:3
UPDATE: 18.12.08

There will not be a round 3 for the PORC Winter series due to a
predicted lack of support being so near Christmas. Apologies to those who have been lead to believe a date had been
concreted for December. A January round has been scheduled so expect to hear more soon...
On the subject of PORC, round 2 proved chaotic with boggy conditions causing more
than enough incidents to keep
the spectators happy, of which there was a large turnout despite freezing weather. Pictures
from round 2 can be viewed
here.

Ashdown Forest Update #2
2.12.08

A few new fragments of info have come through from the team pushing conservators to allow
Mountain Biking on the Ashdown. A meeting is set for mid December to discuss the possibility
of XC routes being marked out on existing trails and will be presented
using high profile presentations. With a definite no-dig policy being held, Downhill is well
out of the question for the time being. Conservationists are being negative about the whole
idea so the going is expected to be tough. We will have more on this as as soon as it breaks!
