Bull Track Downhill Race August 28th 2011
The Bull Track in East Sussex has become a well established venue to race Downhill at in the South East.Last round has to have been the most commercialized yet; more banners, more people hawking the hill with cameras.
How about the racing?
The secret to the popularity lies here: It is the most laid-back race venue in the area. Fact. Plenty of hollering and banter, all in good nature. Egging each other on is the name of the game here, and is also the best way to get your riding to the next level.
The course is 2/3 field, with the last 3rd being woodland. The woodland is where the majority of changes take place between rounds, with the last one being the most creative yet. It was nice to see the traditional mold for trails being broken, and some more interesting features being thrown in. The gully to hip was a nice addition! As race organizer Alvar Coppard put it “its a fun and entry level race” – the gaps and doubles are there, but there are always ways round them.
